The inspiration for the company was born when Kimberly Richmond , the founder and previous owner, became a “runaway bride” while trying to plan her own destination wedding in Mexico. While living in the U.S, she realized how stressful it would be to plan her fairytale wedding in another country and she just wanted to “run away” and hand this huge responsibility to someone else. Kim made a lot of elite weddings in Mexico and all around the world. 

After an extensive search for a qualified US-based planner to organize a "dream wedding" in a foreign country, she recognized the need for such a service. She established Runaway Bride Destination Weddings in 2011 and the rest, as they say….is history.
